Some are thousands of years old, and some are only a few hundred years old. These herbs gather the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, nourish all things, and gradually become spiritual. Nowadays, Shennong no longer easily travels around the world. He works at sunrise and rests at sunset. Shen Nong told them stories about the world every day, but he always forgot where he ended up, whether it started with the Battle of Zhulu or had reached Shang Yang's Reform. Day after day, year after year, many of these medicinal herbs traveled to the human world. Some of them came back within a few days, some came back after years and decades, and some seemed to never come back again. Shennong would not restrain them either. Shennong always said that all things have their own nature and cannot be constrained by their nature to make them lose their vitality. This is true for people, and even more so for herbs. Only by adhering to one's own nature and complying with the laws of all things can the medicinal properties be maximized.
