The little boy held the remaining matchbox in the snow, drew sparks from one stick, burned it out, and then struck another match. He naively thought that he would get warmth in this way, but the snow gradually wetted the remaining matches and they could no longer burn.
He squatted on the side of the road with his eyes closed, shivering, and the snow buried him, but he couldn't bear to shake the snow away. He seemed to know that he was about to die, and wanted to wrap the snow all over his body like a quilt, hoping to snuggle up for warmth.
It wasn't until someone approached, pulled the little boy out, and led him running wildly that he gradually gained feeling in his hands.
The little boy thought he could run through the snow, but something invisible suddenly pulled them apart.
The little boy was left wandering around in confusion, carrying the kitten he met on the road. But within a few days, the kitten got lost on its own.
He finally couldn't hold back his tears anymore and cried very loudly.
But the little boy didn't stop and walked forward. He wanted to see that person and grasp that person's hand completely.
