Maybe you don't intend to save others, but because of the mutual benefit between the savior and the victim, this is the easier choice, isn't it? You walk with him towards stupid nothingness, failure and pain, sacrificing the future for temporary pleasure, tacitly agreeing to avoid the most important and live in the indulgence of the moment, and requiring both parties not to point out each other's behavior, so that both can evade responsibility.
