This is just a poignant, warm and ordinary story.
The protagonist Feng Haoran runs a large-scale shipping company, and his wife is virtuous and beautiful. It seems that he has a successful career and a happy life. One ordinary day, he suddenly received a strange letter from home, and immediately learned that his old father was critically ill.
After 25 years of separation, Feng Haoran once again set foot on the land of his dreams. My old father, whom I haven't seen for many years, is terminally ill. In order to fulfill his wish, the whole family returned to the old fishing village where Feng Haoran spent his childhood.
So, the curtain of memories was slowly opened, and the intricate doubts intertwined with familiar melodies and bitter fragments were slowly solved...
The story is based on the protagonist's family and eloquently tells the dreams of three generations of men in a remote fishing village. It describes life in my country's simple fishing villages in the mid-1980s and witnesses the tremendous changes in the 30 years since reform and opening up. I don't expect every reader to shed tears for this, but at least the story gives us that long-lost feeling: about childhood, about family, and about those fading dreams.
