At noon that day, Nanjing reached its highest heat. Households on the banks of the Liqing Reservoir in the southern suburbs were so hot that they couldn't even take a nap. So, everyone sat under the willow tree by the water, leaning on the lounge chairs to breathe some fresh air, chatting and drinking soda.
