The work is divided into two volumes: upper and lower. The first volume "Chasing Dreams in Qiongya" describes the mutual love and unswerving love between the male and female protagonists. They have gone through hardships, remained determined, diligent and motivated, worked hard, succeeded in their careers, reunited in Qiongya, and finally got married.
