As a mid-term fanfic assignment for my postgraduate course, I took the opportunity to write a fanfic that I had always wanted to write, a sequel to "The Price of Rebirth" by Ye Di Da: "My Boy". It also fulfilled my long-cherished wish since I first read it ten years ago.
Compared with the final marriage in the main text, "My Boy" is really a too heavy story. After more than ten years of long-distance love, the two finally parted ways, Guan Wen became a father, and Qin Yue also found "a more suitable person". Everyone tacitly agreed not to mention it again, as if it was a perfect end.
The impact of this contrast is too strong. To paraphrase an unpopular singer's words, "it shook my dream awake and announced that happiness would never come."
But every time I read it, I just feel like I have seen the constant undercurrent of waves under the calm sea. Looking deeper into the reason, it is because these are not heartfelt reconciliations, but more like helpless compromises. He couldn't even meet her from afar, so he had to constantly speculate, fantasize, and talk to each other in the air, building a castle-like reconciliation in the air.
However, time may heal the pain, but wounds that are not debrided will only slowly fester. When the fragile foundations collapse over time, where will the dangerous buildings that get taller and taller go?
This fanfic uses Guan Wen as the main perspective, and roughly writes a story about him and his wife one late night decades later. I hope to be able to express some of my own feelings, and at the same time, it is also a little selfish. Everyone is welcome to have their own understanding. This is my first time writing, so please give me a thumbs up~
How can one be different from the other? Everyone is happy.
