Aurora is a colorful plasma phenomenon that occurs due to the flow of charged particles from the sun (solar wind) entering the earth's magnetic field. It is a brilliant and beautiful glow that appears at night in the high altitudes near the earth's north and south poles. In the South Pole they are called the Aurora Australis and in the North Pole they are called the Aurora Borealis. Earth's auroras are produced by the excitation (or ionization) of molecules or atoms in the upper atmosphere by high-energy charged particle flows (solar wind) from the Earth's magnetosphere or the Sun.
Auroras often appear over areas with latitudes close to the geomagnetic poles. They generally appear in the form of strips, arcs, curtains, and radials. These shapes are sometimes stable and sometimes change continuously. There are three conditions for the generation of aurora: atmosphere, magnetic field, and high-energy charged particles.
