Over the years, I have been wondering whether the purest profession in the long history is "literati" or "monk". After watching the movie "The Legend of the Demon Cat" a few days ago, I seemed to have come up with an answer that satisfied me. One of them is "perceptual purity" and the other is "rational purity". I really like the arrangement in the movie where Bai Juyi and Kuhai work together to trace the cause of Yang Guifei's death, and I am also deeply attracted by their processes for different purposes. So I wrote the first article in this collection, "The Failure of Peonies." There is no record of Bai Juyi and Kukai knowing each other in history. This article exists to make up for this regret. After writing the first article, I suddenly realized that Li Bai and Abe Nakamaro were close friends, and Wang Wei was revered as the "Buddha of Poetry." Many fictitious fragments came to mind again. In a week of superficial understanding, I wrote these three short stories intermittently.
