The story takes place in the future. In the middle of the 21st century, quantum physicist Yi Mian meets the post-impressionist painter Hein who seems to have traveled from two hundred years ago.
Yan Mian, one of the candidates for "the greatest physicist of the 21st century", joined the North American Time Correction Office (NATCO) after a bizarre car accident. In TCO, the rumors that Yan Mian heard the most were the disbandment of the original case group eight and the "boss". Unexpectedly, the legendary figure was beside him.
Heingelo, the former boss (not the captain) of the Eighth Crime Group, is a "time traveler" who does not belong to this time and space. He spends most of his time sketching in the 19th century. He is a post-impressionist painter who studied under Monet. His paintings have Monet's use of color and Van Gogh's emotional expression. He has been labeled "extremely dangerous" by the General Administration of Time Management.
As the timeline fluctuates more and more frequently, the eight major crime teams that were once disbanded are facing reorganization. By chance, the three members of the original Group 8 plus newcomer Yan Mian and the captain Yin Xinghen, who was pried from Group 7, temporarily formed a new Group 8 of serious crimes. They will face a series of interlocking time crime cases and resolve the seemingly irreconcilable emotional disputes among the team members.
