What is a man, commitment and responsibility.
Even if it's your parents' orders, to heaven, to earth, to ancestors, to your significant other, you make a promise, and you become a real man the moment you make it.
(The frame of the story is a true story that I heard, and I wanted to write it down because I was moved.)
