Synopsis
Michelle first met Henry when she was 30 years old and he was 8 years old. ? Michelle and Mr. Yang met in the business world and had a good time chatting. Mr. Yang's wife passed away three years ago and they have a son named Henry. Michelle lived to be 30 years old and had met many men, but she gradually became tired of them after seeing them too much. When I was 20 years old, I still had the romantic fantasy of a "soul mate", but by the time I was 30, I had given up hope. Mr. Yang knows a lot about business, and he also knows a little about movies and music. Michelle feels that it is effortless to be with him. The most important thing is that Mr. Yang loves his son very much. No matter how busy he is, he must personally take Henry to and from school unless absolutely necessary. Every time he talks about Henry, Mr. Yang is very gentle, and Michelle likes him very much. ? Mr. Yang suggested that if the relationship between the two wanted to take a further step, it would be best to meet Henry first. Michelle has never had any special feelings about children. She does not particularly want a child, nor does she object to having one. Sometimes she reflects on whether she lives too casually, as if she accepts wherever fate pushes her. She doesn't fight, grab, have no desires, but if fate is hers, she won't refuse it. So, now that fate calls for her to have an 8-year-old child, she is willing to accept it. ? Michelle followed Mr. Yang home. Mr. Yang finally coaxed Henry out of the room after much coaxing. Michelle's first impression was that Henry was taller than the average 8-year-old. Mr. Yang asked Henry to say hello, and Henry reluctantly shook hands with Michelle, turned around and ran back to the room. Mr. Yang was a bit sarcastic, but Michelle didn't mind him that much, "He's a kid, give him more time." ? That night, as Michelle lay next to Mr. Yang, she always thought of Henry in her heart. Michelle felt that although he was a child, he seemed very sad. Michelle decided that she would be nice to Henry. ? Later, Mr. Yang took Michelle back home several times and took Michelle and Henry to Disney several times. Slowly Henry seemed to lose his resistance. Although he doesn't cry or make trouble, he never laughs either. When he wasn't smiling, he always looked sad. ? ? One day, Mr. Yang had a meal and was too late to pick Henry up from school. Michelle sent her aunt home and drove to school to pick up Henry. Michelle saw that Henry stood out among a large number of children, not only because Henry was very tall, but also because the other children were playing and laughing with their peers, while Henry was the only one standing there quietly looking ahead. Michelle got out of the car and walked towards Henry. Michelle could feel that Henry was very surprised when he saw her, but there seemed to be a little joy in Henry's surprise. This kind of joy was something Michelle had never seen before. The sharp-eyed children immediately started chirping when they saw Michelle, "Henry, who is this? Is this your mother?" Henry only said, "She is not my mother," and turned around and left. ? Neither of them spoke after getting in the car. Although Michelle understood from the beginning that it would take time for Henry to accept herself, she was still a little sad when she heard Henry explain "she is not my mother" seriously. While the car was waiting at the traffic light, Michelle suddenly saw an ice cream shop on the side of the road, turned around and stopped on the side of the road. "Let's go eat ice cream!" Henry was a little hesitant, but he followed and got out of the car. When the two walked into the store, Henry was not polite and ordered ice cream balls in three flavors: Belgian chocolate, milk toffee, and macadamia nut. Michelle suddenly smiled when she saw Henry devouring his food with great concentration. Henry seemed to realize that he was not eating well and smiled. This was the first time Michelle saw Henry smile. Michelle smiled and helped Henry wipe the chocolate from his mouth, but Henry did not dodge. Michelle suddenly felt that everything was very reasonable and natural, as if she had been doing this for many years. ? ? Mr. Yang is going to New York on a business trip in the next two weeks. At the dinner table, Mr. Yang proposed that Michelle live directly at home. He said that his home was close to Michelle's company, but in fact he wanted Michelle to take this opportunity to develop a relationship with Henry. Neither Michelle nor Henry said anything. Mr. Yang originally wanted to give a few more words to make the two of them get along well, but seeing the two of them bowing their heads to eat, he suddenly felt that nothing could be said. ? Michelle loved taking care of Henry. She picked out clothes for him to wear to school, she prepared breakfast and lunch for him to take to school, she watched him do his homework and practice the piano, and she took him to and from school every day. Henry never expressed any objection. He wore whatever Michelle asked him to wear and ate whatever food Michelle brought him. Sometimes Michelle really wanted to shake Henry and ask him, "What's going on in your little head? Do you like me or not?" But Henry was like a mystery. He never lost his temper, cried or made trouble like other little boys, but Michelle couldn't figure out whether he was happy or not. Henry seemed to do everything because Michelle asked him to do it, but he never expressed his thoughts and wishes. The only thing that's certain is that Henry slowly looks less sad. ? Michelle's favorite time of day is picking Henry up from school. The two never spoke at first, but then Michelle slowly began to ask him what he had learned in class and what new friends he had made. Later, Henry began to tell her interesting things about the interesting classmates in the class. The 20-minute drive passed quickly, but Michelle was always a little unfinished. One day in the car, Henry suddenly said that the next day was an open day for parents, and the teacher asked his parents to go to the school to participate in the activity. Michelle hesitated, wondering if this was Henry's invitation. While he was struggling, Henry suddenly said, "I have told the teacher that my father is on a business trip and will not go to the activity tomorrow." Michelle was a little sad. ? The next day Michelle went to school regardless. Michelle saw other children playing various games with their parents. When Henry was reading a book alone, she suddenly felt very sad. Michelle walked up to Henry and saw Henry looking up at her with such overflowing joy that her heart seemed to melt. The child who was chirping last time came to chirp again this time, "Henry, didn't you say she was not your mother? Why are you here today?" Henry still explained seriously, "She is not my mother." He took Michelle's hand and took her to see the paintings he drew at school. ? Henry was very happy that day. Michelle had never seen him so happy. After school they went to eat steak, and in the evening they went to the riverside to watch the night view. Henry was as happy as a child, and Michelle suddenly thought, no, he is a child to begin with, what does "like" a child mean? Henry fell asleep on the way home that night. Michelle carried him back to his room, took off his shoes and clothes to put him to sleep. Michelle felt that everything was very reasonable and natural, as if she had been doing this for many years. ? A few days later, Henry had a fever at school, and the teacher had to call Michelle and ask her to take Henry home. Halfway through the car, Henry was already dizzy from the fever, and Michelle drove to the hospital in one breath. Fortunately, it was nothing serious, just a common flu. After taking antipyretics, Henry lay crookedly in Michelle's arms. From time to time, Michelle would put her face to test the temperature of Henry's forehead, and tears suddenly fell down. Michelle realized that it had been a long time since she had been so worried about someone. Michelle watched Henry open his eyes and look at her, and suddenly said, "Why don't you marry my dad?" Michelle was a little panicked for a moment, but Henry still said clearly, "Don't marry my dad. When I grow up one day, will you marry me?" Michelle thought Henry had burned out his brain and hurried to call the doctor. When he came back, Henry had already fallen asleep. Michelle held Henry in her arms all night. ? ? Mr. Yang is back from New York. Mr. Yang breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Michelle and Henry didn't make a huge fuss, and Henry even looked much more lively than before. That night when Mr. Yang held Michelle, he felt that something was different about her. She seemed a little more enthusiastic than before, but it seemed that this enthusiasm was not brought by him, but by something happy in her heart. After it was over, the two of them were lying on the bed. Mr. Yang asked if Henry had caused any trouble. Michelle said that they had a great time in the past two weeks. In her sleepy state, Michelle heard Mr. Yang say, "Since Henry has no objection, let's get married." Michelle suddenly remembered what Henry said when he had a fever that day, and she suddenly woke up. Michelle didn't want to disappoint Henry, but she didn't want to leave Henry even more. She couldn't think of any other way to be with Henry. She agreed to get married. ? Mr. Yang wanted Henry to be the flower girl at the wedding, but Henry firmly disagreed. This is the first time Michelle has seen Henry lose his temper. Until the wedding day, Henry not only refused to be a flower girl, he even refused to go to the wedding. Michelle felt that the little relationship she had finally built with Henry had been ruined by herself, but she was unwilling to give up. Michelle entered Henry's room and saw him lying on the bed reading, but he was clearly not reading. His tears fell on the pillow, and he remained motionless. Michelle sat quietly next to him, and Henry suddenly fell into her arms. She held him just like she held him when he had a fever that day. Michelle said softly, "We still have many days, we still have ten years." Purpose: This article is a cp fanfic by Michelle Yeoh and Henry Golding.
