"Day by Day" tells the story of a certain emperor's eldest son (Jiang Jing) whose mother and concubine did not want her son to compete for the throne and asked him to dress up as a woman for many years. However, when he was nineteen years old, he was forced to marry by the ministers. Jiang Jing had no choice but to go to Nanguan to temporarily find a man to be his husband, but the "husband" he found was Pei Lin, the son of Prime Minister Pei who was framed by a traitor two years ago. They gradually got to know each other and became good friends after their wedding on the second day, and also fell in love after spending many days together. However, because the ministers in the court plotted rebellion one after another and colluded with the enemy country, the enemy country happened to break through the city gate that day, found Jiang Jing, and kidnapped him back. But the emperor of the enemy country turned out to be the prince of another country that Jiang Jing had met when he was a child. Jiang Jing was so distraught that he took out a guard's sword and wiped it from his neck while he was loosened.
