Tang Nian was reborn from the interstellar era to the ancient times. He was in the same era as Tang San, but twenty years before Tang San entered the ghost world. Tang Nian accepted Tang San as his disciple as the Eighth Elder when he was in ghosts. When Tang San was twenty-four years old, Tang Nian was in seclusion and practicing, and Tang San was framed and committed suicide by jumping off a cliff. After Tang Nian came out of seclusion, he heard that Tang San was framed and forced to jump off a cliff to commit suicide. Tang Nian found out that Tang San was the person he had been looking for. So, after Tang Nian killed the person who framed Tang San, he was chased by the three elders and jumped off the cliff where Tang San jumped. As a result, Tang Nian was reborn in Douluo Continent as Tang San's brother.
