In the original timeline, Sirius failed to clear his grievances, and Valerie returned to England in 1995 for some reasons, and they reunited with Sirius when the Order of the Phoenix was reorganized. But after the Department of Mysteries, Sirius did not fall through the Veil but was seriously injured.
