I remember that wonderful moment,
You appeared in front of me,
Like a fleeting phantom,
Like an elf of pure beauty.
In the torment of hopeless sorrow,
In the trouble of noisy illusions,
Your gentle voice has been ringing in my ears for a long time,
I still see your lovely face in my sleep.
Many years have passed,
A stormy upheaval,
Dispelling the dreams of the past,
So I forgot your gentle voice,
And your elf-like figure.
In the backcountry, in the gloomy life of imprisonment,
My years are passing away quietly like that,
There is no devoted person, no poetic soul,
No tears, no life, no love.
Now the mind is beginning to wake up,
Then you appeared in front of me again,
Like a fleeting phantom,
Like an elf of pure beauty.
My heart leaps in ecstasy,
For it everything wakes up again,
With beloved people and inspiration for poetry,
There is life, there are tears, and there is love.
-------------------------- Pushkin "To Cohen"
When we are young, we often don't understand what love is.
When I was young, I once thought that love could transcend everything. At that time, I did not understand that there was another force in the world called fate, which could only be endured but could not be changed.
When I sang "I love you more than I can say" at the top of my lungs in the empty bathroom at school, I had no idea that such a story would happen to me one day.
The first time I met him was on a bloody occasion in the city of Odessa, Ukraine.
