[Warm-hearted short story, no CP]
The ancient wood essence looks like a rabbit and is named Taowu. When you see it and call it by its name, you will stop.
——"Li Wei Han Wen Jia"
The last thing Qian Ling wanted to hear in her life was, "A child without a mother is so pitiful."
She had a mother, who was gentle, virtuous, hard-working and brave. She raised her with great pains alone for seven years. Unfortunately, she died early due to lung disease. She didn't like their sympathy.
The crows on the dead branches made a crackling cry. Qian Ling looked at the monks chanting in front of the tombstone with red eyes, at the neighbors sighing as they passed by, and at the scolding farmers who wanted to cut firewood but gave up because of the funeral. She did not shed a single tear. As night fell, the people gathered in front of the grave also left in droves, until she was the only one left.
When A Niang was still alive, she would read with her every night. She still remembered the night before her mother fell ill. In the dim candlelight, she opened a book of ghosts and monsters and read out the stories in a haggard but brisk manner.
"There is an ancient wood spirit in the world that can transform into a white rabbit, but if someone calls its name, it will disappear."
Later, she knew that the white rabbit was the person she loved most.
