It is an extension of the plot from Season 2 13-15. If time is not reset, "you" will always stay in that spring.

The moment the flowers withered, the world turned black and white again. It was obviously the same world as before I met you, but I was so lonely that I wanted to cry.
Intention: Without you, the world will have no color anymore
