When she was five years old, Su Jin huddled behind a gap in the wardrobe and witnessed the whole process of the collapse of the world. The mother's last trace of warmth evaporated under the moonlight, and the violent father walked away. On that night of extreme fear, a calm and almost cold voice sounded deep in her consciousness: "Don't be afraid, go to sleep, I will take care of it." From then on, two "me's" lived in Su Jin's body: one was silent in front of others, trying to act like an ordinary girl; the other, a protective personality called "me", bore all the memories and emotions for her, allowing her to "sleep" in the trauma.
The uncle who had not been in contact for many years came with eyes similar to those of her mother and was covered in dust, and picked up the girl with vacant eyes. The new home is clean and bright, without the smell of alcohol or roaring, only the uncle's clumsy cooking skills, quiet company, and a stray kitten that accidentally broke in.
Life seems to be on track: going to school, making friends, dealing with growing pains. But the ghosts of the past linger. A similar figure from the back, a piece of vague news, or even a shape unconsciously made in clay class can instantly drag her back to that bloody night. "I" is always guarding soberly, using absolute rational analysis to mediate with the outside world, while at the same time struggling to reach the five-year-old child deep in the consciousness who is always curled up in the closet and refuses to wake up.
The uncle used his silent and tenacious protection to build a fortress called "security" bit by bit. Until word came of the man's death - not a trial, but a dastardly accident. When the external threat ends, the internal war really comes to the fore. "I" began to talk to the sleeping girl, trying to lead her from the dark closet to the reality that was stormy but also bright.
