Three years ago, when she was about to return to China after graduating with her Ph. D., Graduate Xin Qiao and her mentor Miller expressed their feelings for each other in the United States, but failed to achieve success because of their mutual attachment to their homeland.
They agreed that from now on they would only care about each other as friends.
After returning to China, Xinqiao kept in touch with Miller. It was not until some time three years later that Xinqiao never contacted Miller again, but received an email from an American hospital:
Miller was in a serious car accident six months ago, resulting in quadriplegia. He relied on nasal feeding and a ventilator to maintain his life. He had a weak will to survive and even began to seek euthanasia.
Xinqiao flew to the United States as quickly as possible, and she vowed to do her best to take care of him, become his support, and be the light behind him.
Later, Xinqiao persuaded Miller to return to China with her, marry him and have a daughter.
During the long and difficult years, they resisted each other, were suspicious of each other, could not bear the resistance from relatives and friends, and were on the verge of breaking up.
In the end, because they love each other deeply, they work hard to resolve misunderstandings, respond to doubts together, and turn the originally bumpy life into a ray of sunshine, a hymn, and a ray of light behind each other.
