Qi Yue was born into a large traditional tea-making family. Before growing and making tea, she was a standard urban white-collar worker. The ancestral precepts stipulate that girls cannot pass on the tea-making skills. However, the younger generation of the Qi family are all women, and many of the other traditional tea-making experts in the town are women. Qi Yue's father had no choice but to let her learn and pass on the skills because he had no one to inherit them. Qi Yue was not very willing but could not bear to let the family inheritance decline, so she had to take over her father's responsibility and learn tea planting and production. In the process, she met her lifelong best friend and partner.
