The story begins with a murder case and introduces the protagonist Tom. Tom is wanted by Pinkerton detectives in Strawberry Town for assisting in the escape of an imprisoned serial killer, and begins his escape journey. The story focuses on his life after his escape: encountering the yet-to-be-formed "Badeem Gang", and following the gang through the transformation from the Harmony House to a gang that is both good and evil, and a criminal alliance. Tom is in turmoil, almost always on the run, and sleeps in his hometown after completing his final revenge.
Purpose: The gang's transformation from good to evil reflects the influence of the chaotic living environment in the West on people's hearts. Although the protagonist does evil, he has good intentions and longs for redemption.
