William Franklin, who narrowly escaped death on the battlefield of the Spanish Civil War, came to England to teach in a dreary and suffocating church orphanage, carrying a heavy past. From antagonism, to trust, to family-like attachment, Franklin gradually conquered these children with different personalities with his patience and love, shining the sunshine of freedom, equality and benevolence into the dark corners of the orphanage.
However, darkness will not retreat easily. Its messenger, Brother John, this sadist and tyrant, hopes to defend his rule of darkness, and starts a "Child Abuse Suspense"-style open and secret battle with Franklin, the messenger of light.
