The Buddha said: "There are more troubles in the world than the sands of the Ganges. Losing oneself is like silt and dirt. The lotus comes out of the five turbid worlds and is unpolluted. Hold your head high, clean your body, work hard like the Buddha, and teach people to be reborn in the pure land."
During the 65 years of Xue Lian's life, she was born in the dirt of a dust pond, and traveled to two places as an adult. Even though her heart was as painful as a lotus heart, she never succumbed to the real difficulties. She took root in the mud and stood upright in the wind and rain. Although her sudden death was regrettable, her life was ultimately complete.
