"Tui Bei Tu" is one of the most famous Chinese prophecy books. It is said to have been written by Li Chunfeng and Yuan Tiangang in the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty. The complete collection is in one volume, with sixty images divided into hexagrams. There is a prophecy under each image, accompanied by four lines of a poem called "Ode", which predicts prosperity and chaos in future generations.
The title of the book "Tui Bei Diagram" is based on the ode in the sixtieth image (the last hexagram) that says, "There are countless things to say, so it is better to push the back and go back to rest."
The poems "Ode" in the book are mostly ambiguous, either bright or dark, and have been quoted and annotated by many scholars after the Tang Dynasty. What this journal publishes is the annotated version of Jin Shengtan (also known as Ruocai), a self-proclaimed and unscrupulous literary critic in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.
There are different copies of "Tuibei Tu". For example, the manuscript that appeared in the 13th year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1887) has 67 images.
