In the midterm exam in the second semester of high school, Shi Bei failed to take the first place in his grade for the first time.
Chemistry teacher Xu Xingzhi looked through the answer sheets, his temples twitching, and he called Shi Bei over. The tall, thin boy stood in front of him, smiling triumphantly.
Xu Xingzhi was so angry that he wanted to kick him twice, but he still had to behave like a teacher. He was stuffy in his heart, and with a calm face, he asked him quietly: "What's going on? Tell me."
Shi Bei looked at his face. Fortunately, there was no anger. Then he opened his eyes and lied: "I can't do it, Teacher Xu. I haven't studied seriously during this period. Otherwise, you can make up for it for me. I will listen well."
Xu Xingzhi glanced at him sideways and said with a hint of warning: "Shi Bei, I can tell at a glance whether you are lying or not."
Shi Bei chuckled, casually pulled up a chair and sat down, his feet slipped much closer to Xu Xingzhi, and he said casually: "Does Teacher Xu know me so well?"
He stretched out his neck and leaned in close, the cunning in his eyes not concealed at all.
Xu Xingzhi looked down at him, his eyes flashing slightly. The boy seemed to have not rested well, and the dark blue under his eyes was a bit heavy. He resisted the urge to rub it with his hands, and said in a deep tone, "Shi Bei."
The boy suddenly stopped smiling, and his grievances appeared in the corners of his eyes and brows. He knocked his head on his shoulder and whispered: "Xu Xingzhi, don't hide from me."
