"All adults were once children, but most of them have forgotten." The protagonist Hailizi was a child in the mountains in the 1980s. The first part of the work describes the joy and confusion of rural children in that era, including family affection, rebellion, and love. The latter part describes the protagonist Hailizi entering the society, getting married and having children, and becoming a mother. Mom, she lived like her parents and became someone who was hated by others and herself. She fell into depression and entered the darkest moment in her life. She thought about ending her life, but she couldn't bear to worry about the children who accompanied her in the darkness. In the end, she let go of her obsession, redefined the meaning of life, and walked out of that long dark road.
