The general fell in love with someone he shouldn't have loved. He was willing to sacrifice everything for that person, but that person treated him as a pawn. He thought he could impress that person, but that person married her instead. His Highness fell in love with someone, but he used that person for revenge. He couldn't marry that person, so he married someone who was very similar to him. The ending, not sure when, it depends on your mood, it's not well written, so I don't recommend reading it.
