Leta Lestrange survived Grindelwald and married Theseus Scamander and had a son and a daughter. However, all escapes from death were conditional. As the granddaughter of Theseus and Leta, she became an Obscurial after being possessed by dark magic on the day she was born. Although Grindelwald had been imprisoned for many years, the identity of the Obscurial still attracted many dark wizards, including Tom Marvolo Riddle.
