In the "brain in a vat" experiment, does the brain that is separated from the human body and placed in the vat think that it is still alive as a "human"? The answer is unknown.
So if we have been living in an extremely real dream since the birth of consciousness, would we know it?
Or are we actually "brains in a vat", always sleeping in a dream?
