After get off work, I was sorting information on my desk, and suddenly a glass of orange-gold bubbles and a hand with distinct joints appeared in my sight. I raised my eyes and met his gaze.
"Drink a drink? Thank you for your hard work today." His voice was mellow, and he kept raising his hand in front of me. I couldn't resist him, so I still reached out and took the cup of coffee.
"Thank you, how have you been these past few years? Why do you want to come back?"
"Some things keep me here, so I naturally want to come back. How about you? How are you doing?" He was silent for a while before answering, looking at me as if he wanted to pierce the window paper. I felt a little restless, so I made an excuse and left.
It got dark early in late autumn, but I didn't want to leave. I stood in the side garden downstairs and took out the cigarette from my bag out of habit. The evening breeze was a bit cool. I took a puff of the cigarette and thought of the past few years. I would inadvertently listen to his news. My friends also said that he always asked me about things. The two of them had no contact but missed each other.
When I was in a daze, he suddenly stretched out a hand to take away my cigarette. He hugged me with one arm and lay on my shoulder. Before I could react, he had already spoken.
"Let me stay with you, don't reject me, I don't have that many five years in my life."
Five years ago, I let him choose his future, and now, he chose me.
