The dyer Wang Yin was framed and died in prison. His four-year-old daughter Shishi was given to Grandma Li to be raised by a neighbor. The neighbor boy Jia Yi meets her childhood sweetheart with her mentor, teaching her martial arts and helping her take revenge. Grandma Li trained her teacher in singing, dancing and other performing arts skills and prepared to make money in this career, but she did not allow them to get married. In order to save Jia Yi's life, Shishi was so sad and angry that he had no choice but to sell songs to survive. The famous Li Shishi attracted the attention of Emperor Zhao Ji. Surrounded by all the sycophants, Zhao Ji came to Li Shishi's house incognito to offer money to Grandma Li. Li Shishi looked down on Zhao Ji who was pretending to be a businessman and only played the piano and sang songs. Gao Qiu was guarding the streets, but Jia Yi was sent to Qiongzhou for quarreling when he returned home and writing poems to vent his anger. Zhao Ji couldn't resist the temptation and brought treasures to Master Li's house many times, and named the place where Master Li lived. Once, the lyricist Zhou Bangyan was delivering a poem at Li Shishi's place, and Zhao Ji arrived. He hurriedly hid under the bed, wrote new lyrics after hearing what he heard, and played Li Shishi's song to Zhao Ji. Zhao Ji was angry and expelled Zhou Bangyan from the capital. Li Shishi sent him back and complained to Zhao Ji who was waiting impatiently. Zhao Ji was not angry but happy. He loved Master Li even more and gave him more rewards. Li Shishi was invited to participate in the Thousand Taoist Association, and he denounced Lin Lingsu, who was deceiving the world and stealing his reputation. Zhao Ji built Fengle Tower and Genyue in the name of building a military camp. He first repaired the road to Master Li's house. All kinds of political corruption led to peasant uprisings such as Fang La and Song Jiang. Song Jiang went to Li Shishi's house through the back door in an attempt to recruit the emperor. When foreign enemies invaded, Zhao Ji took the throne and fled to the south of the Yangtze River in panic. After returning, Li Shishi asked to be a female Taoist priest. The Jin soldiers attacked the city again and captured Zhao Ji, his son and his ministers as prisoners. Jin Shuai demanded gold and silver, but Grandma Li lost all her money and committed suicide. The puppet emperor Zhang Bangchang helped the Jin soldiers search for Li Shishi, but Shishi committed suicide by scolding the thief. After being rescued, he lived in Hunan and lived as a singer.
Purpose: to lash out at the cruelty of the feudal system, to praise teachers for their clear distinction between love and hate; to expose the absurd behavior of Zhao Ji's monarchs and ministers, and to express that the cause of the country's subjugation was caused by corruption.
