The first draft of "Le Sui" was published when I was in my second year of high school. It was in the form of a script and was relatively simple. Last year (that is, 2023), when I entered college, I completely changed the plot and turned it into the second draft, which is the novel version, and saved it as the fourth part of my short story collection.
Reporter Mo Qianchong was transferred to work in the south. When he reunited with his friends near the end of the year, he received a notice from his new unit to interview the director Lu Xianzhong to help investigate the loss of a private museum's hanging painting collection. After the interview, I ran into Zhan Lesui, who runs a traditional Chinese medicine shop at home, and Wen Yaner, who went home to visit relatives. With their help, they learned more clues about the hanging painting incident.
Unexpectedly, one after another, several serial cases were implicated: first, the whereabouts of the paintings pointed to Lan Rongzhi, who had failed in his business, and was suspected of pyramid schemes and kidnapping. Then, the strange monk who had been kidnapped by Lan Rongzhi mutated into a beastly nature and hurt people.
The truth is complicated, when will it be solved?
