The story in this article tells the stories of Shen Shuning, a famous Peking Opera actor, and Gu Jingbai, a young businessman.
Shen Shuning's past is difficult to describe as tragic. His family fell into decline and he lost his parents. Fortunately, he was adopted by his master and taught Peking Opera, and eventually became a famous actor in the capital. Unfortunately, the capital could not tolerate this famous young man. Conspiracies and frame-ups left him covered in wounds and forced him to stay away from the capital. Shen Shuning had no choice but to return to Changsha, and it was here that he met his salvation, his Gu Jingbai. Gu Jingbai is the third young master of the Gu family, a merchant family in Changsha. He is strict and cool by nature. The third young master of the Gu family had a girl he had raised since childhood. The girl's name was Nan Wantang. Nan Wantang's father was the housekeeper of the Gu family, but he died trying to save Gu Jingbai in an accident, leaving only Nan Wantang who depended on each other. Nan Wantang was only seven years old at the time. The Gu family originally wanted to spend some money on her, but Gu Jingbai insisted on raising her for eight years. The little girl loved Gu Jingbai wholeheartedly, but Gu Jingbai fell in love with Shen Shuning alone. In order to stay in the theater often, Gu Jingbai begged Nan Wantang to study opera with Shen Shuning. Later, in order to silence everyone in Youyou, he married Nan Wantang, but only to hide him and Shen Shuning. No one loves Nan Wantang, except Fu Yichuan, the new garrison officer in Changsha. Fu Yichuan fell in love with Nan Wantang and even tried to frame Shen Shuning, just to force Gu Jingbai to release her. In the end, the third young lady of the Gu family died, but there was an additional Mr. Shen who moved into Gu's house. Nan Wantang finally became Chief Fu's newlywed wife and changed her name to Shi Sheng.
Purpose: Tell the story of two teams of lovers during the Republic of China who broke through the secular vision and bravely stayed together. I hope that each of us can bravely embrace the one we love.
