There is an ancient legend in Beihai: There are three fairy mountains in the vast East China Sea, called Penglai, Yingzhou and Fangzhang respectively. Immortal gods live on the mountains. After Qin Shihuang unified our country, he sent the alchemist Xu Fu to the East China Sea to search for the elixir, but found nothing. In the Han Dynasty, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty also dreamed of immortality, but the search still yielded no results, so he ordered a large pool to be dug in the north of Chang'an, named "Taiye Pool". Three rockeries were piled in the pool, named after Penglai, Yingzhou and Fangzhang Sanxian Mountains respectively. Since then, emperors of all dynasties have liked to imitate the "fairy form" of "one pool and three mountains" to build royal palaces. It seems that only in this way can he live forever like a "god". The Yongding River, which originates from the Sanggan River in Shanxi, flows into the Yanghe River from the Inner Mongolia Plateau in Hebei Province, flows through Beijing and Tianjin, then enters the Haihe River, and finally flows into the Bohai Sea. After the Yongding River moved southward, a wilderness and pond were left behind, with an island in the water called "Yaoyu". The terrain closely resembles the "one pond and three mountains" pattern, and has become a geomantic treasure favored by royal families of all ages. After Song Yaoyu died, her ashes were buried in that sea.
