Zhang Minhua, born in 1938, is a senior engineer and female.
During the Spring Festival in 2018, she walked on Zhuque Street with her granddaughter and daughter-in-law. When she was in college, everyone would always come here every holiday. The Heping Cinema, which was grand in those days, is now shrunk on the corner of the street, old and yellowed. The wind from the north was blowing very loudly, but Zhang Minhua felt that they were just whispers across time. She thought of everyone who walked with her on this street. Some went to the other side of the ocean, some became academicians, and some collapsed on the workbench in their prime. She got married to one of them, lived a simple job, and grew old simple - at least that's how she felt.
When her granddaughter is in high school, Manhua has advised her many times to study hard. The granddaughter always looks disapproving, but Minhua still persuades her every time. Reading has truly changed her destiny.
The title of the book Kapok Luoyangsheng is taken from "To the Oak"
