In 1912, Sun Yat-sen founded the Republic of China. However, in the distant Gongzhuling, it still had the same old appearance under the rule of the Manchu Qing Dynasty. Deng Wenfang, who was only five years old, was taken into Caojiabao in Gongzhuling as a child bride. She married Cao Ruifeng, the eighth son, and began to bind her feet and learn old-fashioned etiquette. After the fall of the Qing Dynasty, Prince Rui took refuge in Caojiabao, Gongzhuling, and conspired with Nobuwa Higashikata, a Japanese man who mined gold in Caojiabao, in order to rebuild Manchukuo's new system against Nanjing. Deng Wenfang and Cao Ruifeng, who were only five years old, called Higashikata Nobuwa their teacher and got the opportunity to learn advanced Japanese culture.
Japan invaded the three eastern provinces. Although Caojiabao was still living a well-fed life under the protection of Prince Rui, Cao Yuxi did not want to conspire with the Japanese to invade China and be labeled a traitor, so he used addiction to gambling as a cover and deliberately lost all Caojiabao's family property within two months.
Eight of their grandchildren moved away from Caojiabao one after another. Deng Wenfang and Cao Ruifeng embarked on a rough road to make a living and made a great career. In the blink of an eye, the Anti-Japanese War was victorious. The puppet Manchukuo and Japanese families were bullied because they had no time to evacuate. Cao Ruifeng and Deng Wenfang remembered their childhood teachers and saved Prince Rui and the family members of Dongjiu Xinhe.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the United States and Russia were still eyeing him. The fourth son, Xinzhi, went north to join the war, and the second son, Nianzhi, went south to participate in the trade union movement. With the support of Deng Wenfang's firm belief, his grandchildren studied abroad to learn new technologies and new ideas with perseverance and hard work.
With China's accession to the WTO in 2001, Deng Wenfang, who is nearly 100 years old, continues to run his small family of four generations after nearly a century of progress.
