I am Xiaomi, born in an ordinary family in the rural areas of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai in the mid-1980s.
My father was an honest carpenter who went to work in Singapore when I was in sixth grade and did not return home until I graduated from high school. My mother was a grumpy rural housewife who scolded me at times and hit me at worst.
My family environment was not warm, but I was fortunate to have excelled in liberal arts since I was a child. Even though my science subjects were mediocre, I was able to enter a key high school and a key university.
The coldness on the outside, the low self-esteem in the bones, and the passion in the heart made me stumble through my entire adolescence.
I have had many friends, who have brought me hope and left me with sorrow. I hope to keep their good and bad in my memory.
