In January of the following year, Waxi met Prince Huai in person in Beijing, treated him with courtesy, and named Li Lushu Prince Huai. He lived in the capital permanently, and was not held accountable for everything, and was praised by the world as good. In May of the same year, Waxi decreed that the kingdoms should cease to exist within the current generation and would no longer be inherited. The sons of the kings, regardless of whether they were concubines or direct descendants, could serve as officials in the court without passing the examination. This was the "Guangyin policy". Since then, the kingdoms have gradually declined and power has been transferred to the dynasty.
In July of the same year, Waxi changed his reign name to Honghe, reduced his taxes in March, and offered sacrifices to the ancestral temple, thus bringing peace to the world.
