The Emerald Lady has only one eye.
The Emerald Lady had two eyes when she was young. She still had a name at that time, but no one remembered it long ago, and those who remembered it were all dead.
The Emerald Lady loves snakes and loves to raise snakes. She had a little blue snake, which she named Jade. Later, she dug out one of her eyes and used her eye socket to raise it.
The little green snake likes to gnaw the carrion in the eye sockets, and it gnawed the jade lady's eye sockets until they were round. Over time, they turned into black holes.
