Chelier was born in a poor peasant family. Because he was too hungry to eat, he joined King Kaimi's army as a soldier at the age of fifteen and fought everywhere. Later, he became a general and assisted King Kaimi in overthrowing the Ceylon Dynasty. He conquered the country and was named an earl. He also served as Minister of Agriculture.
Chelier, who became the Minister of Agriculture, tried every means to seek personal gain. Finally, amid the complaints of the people, he was thrown into prison by King Kaimi and banned for life. Looking back on half his life in prison, Chelier realized that he should not have abused his power. If he could do it all over again, he should read more books so that he would not make a big mistake.
