This story that spans three thousand years and travels through the three realms of humans, gods, and dragons embodies all the romantic and transcendent fantasies of my youth. Loneliness and despair, fate and reincarnation, kingship and ascension, hatred and destruction, love and redemption, as well as the singing of the soul and the sadness of falling to heaven and earth.
I created Cassio when I was twenty-two years old. He is my child and I am proud to be his creator. It originated from the deepest part of my mind. Two years ago, my uncle and I went to visit the Jinshan Temple in his hometown. In the Buddhist music of "The Great Compassion Mantra", I saw the two names Cassio and Ajita. One means "eternal calamity" in Sanskrit and the other means "invincible" in Sanskrit.
The depressed Yu Ji, the silent and remorseful Emperor and Eagle King, the affectionate and desperate Ye Wu and the Queen, the halo-shrouded Ajido, the incomparably handsome Ao Shen and Pluto, and the crazy love Yu Shang and Lei'er. All the characters are parts of my split personality, my sadness of being torn apart by myself.
