This story is the basis of "Remembering Jiangnan". I don't know when this happened, or it might even have happened during the Anti-Japanese War. I thought about it and set it in the late Southern Song Dynasty, not because it was more likely to happen at this time, but because of the need to expand the novel. I also changed two small places. First, all the Zhou family members escaped beforehand, so not so many people died. Second, I estimate that Zhou Yuji may actually have more than one son.
My grandpa's surname is Zhou, and his father's surname is Wang. It seems that when my grandpa was young, he still retained the surname Wang.
