Take history as your bones and food as your soul.
"Food" is the foundation of people's livelihood, and "ding" symbolizes the world. Hence the name "The Story of the Food Cauldron"!
The grand historical gourmet romance novel "Shiding Ji" is divided into three parts. The background is set in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. It begins with Shi Kefa's defense of Yangzhou in 1645 and ends with Zheng Chenggong's death in 1662. It describes the legendary food events of the male and female protagonists Bai Shiyi and Shi Liuli in the four dynasties of Hongguang, Longwu (co-existing with King Lu), Yongli of the Southern Ming Dynasty, and Shunzhi of the Manchu Qing Dynasty at the same time.
Purpose: The author's idea is to break away from the Qiong Yao-type structure that is common in current food novels, "covering food and actually talking about love", and create a Jin Yong-type structure of "big food, big history". The feelings of family and country and humanistic philosophy are placed in the food legends of the troubled times, and the troubled times of the Southern Ming Dynasty are used to set off the prosperous times of Kangxi, embodying the idea of "the true meaning of food, serving the country and the people".
