It tells a story about the growth of friendship, family affection, love and dreams between "I" and the people around me. The story of the male protagonist Ling Ziyang and the female protagonist Yang Xiaoyao runs through the entire text, with stories about the past with friends, the journey of chasing dreams together, and stories of family affection interspersed in the middle. The beginning of the story is that "I" went to light the Kongming Lantern with my best friends in the past three years on the day of my senior year of high school. It was the first time for all of us to light the Kongming Lantern. Everyone wrote their inner words and wishes on the Kongming Lantern. These words should have dissipated in the sky as the sky lanterns rose into the sky, but I inadvertently read them all. With a trace of guilt, we graduated like this. It was not until more than three years later that an unintentional phone call between me and Bai Haoyu outlined my memories of my high school days. After going to reunite with Bai Haoyu, I made up my mind to take a "travel", a trip to reunite with those people back then, a trip to fulfill the wishes of my friends on their Kongming Lanterns, and a trip to redeem myself.
