Speaking of the group of returnees, most of the characters mentioned in movies, TV shows and novels are likely to have graduated from the United States and the United Kingdom and returned to China. As an old international student who has lived in Toronto for six years, I still have a lot of affection and sense of belonging to We The North, the country of the north. Moreover, many of my relatives and close friends who have influenced me and stayed with me for many years were all met when I was studying and living in Canada. They are the shining wealth in my life. To this day, I still think that I am still enjoying the luck and blessings they have brought to me.
Therefore, this work is dedicated to me, and to people who, like me, dedicate their youth, emotions, and even another choice in life to a certain city on the other side of the ocean. We went to the other side of the earth to study, work and live, far away from our hometowns and relatives, turning our original distant place into a second hometown. We keep wandering and making choices in this besieged city called "Yuanjing". Some people go back, and some people never go back. Some people leave without a trace of regret, and some people leave but want to go back again.
Now, I am only thirty years old in one year. I have changed from an overseas student at the beginning, to a new immigrant, and then from a new immigrant to a member of the army of returnees. Now, I have returned from overseas and returned to overseas again. At the starting point of all journeys, I chose to start over in Toronto.
