In the Qing Dynasty, in 1898, the Reform Movement of 1898 failed. This reform lasted for 103 days. A young man named Jiang Bei was famous in Miaojia County, Xuzhou. He lived with his grandfather and sister Jiang Nianci. He investigated hundreds of cases, large and small, and was known as the Young North Detective. After Jiang Nianci's death, he bid farewell to his grandfather and friends in his hometown, and went to the capital to find out the truth about his mother's death. He was involved in the tragic death of thirteen people in the capital, and later joined Beiyamen as a detective, where he met Song Tianzhen and Tang Jiayong, friends who lived and died together. The three of them work together to maintain peace in troubled times.
On February 12, 1912, the Qing Dynasty declared its demise. Governor Qi Si of the Bei Yamen was overthrown. Tang Jiayong was assassinated. The Bei Yamen was disbanded. Jiang Bei returned to Miaojia County, Xuzhou to live, set up a private school, teach and educate people, but later fell ill and died.
