Miura Reiko. In 1961, in the recruitment of "Housewives' Friends Magazine", under the pseudonym "Ritsuko Hayashida", she submitted the novel "The Sun Never Sets in the West" (Japanese: Taiyo no Zai no せず) and was selected; the following year, this novel was published in the new year issue of "Housewives' Friends". In 1963, the Asahi Shimbun held a "10 million yen reward novel collection to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Osaka headquarters and the 75th anniversary of the Tokyo headquarters."
