Summary:
Just imagine - there's this kid on the train who is the first friend Harry meets, with a corned beef sandwich and a dirty nose. Ron is eleven years old and he wants to go to Gryffindor because he is a Weasley and his family has always been like this. But it didn't happen that way.
"Potter" comes before "Weasley" in the alphabet, so Harry said "not going to Slytherin" and was told "then it's better to go to Gryffindor". Percy, Fred and George all sat there dressed in red and gold, proudly ruffling the already messy hair of the surviving boy. At this time Ron sat down and the Sorting Hat spit out: "Slytherin!"
