According to the Mianzhu County Chronicle and the epitaph in Mianzhu Cannu's Tomb: In ancient times, Sichuan was still a tribal era. There was a family by Zhaojiazui on the east bank of Shiting River in Guanyu Town, Mianzhu City. The couple had a daughter at their knees.
One day, her husband was snatched away by a neighbor when he went out. The wife was in great pain and had no other choice, so she told Tianzhu: "If you can give me back my husband, you will be my wife and my daughter." After that, a white horse raised by the family broke its reins and ran away. Soon, the husband was brought back, and the whole family was reunited, and they were very happy. However, the white horse stopped eating grass and kept neighing when his wife passed by, as if complaining. The husband was very strange and asked his wife. The wife told her husband her bed vows. The husband was very angry and said: "Humans and animals are not even, how can anyone dare to force it?" So he killed the white horse and exposed its skin in the courtyard.
One day, his daughter passed by Pi side, and the Pijuan girl flew away. The couple only had this one girl, which was very desolate. A few days later, the girl turned into a silkworm and ate the leaves on the mulberry tree in front of the door. Every time his mother passed by, the silkworm would raise its head and look down at her. From then on, her mother carefully fed her silkworms, ate the leaves and spun silk. Her mother weaved the silk and taught it to her neighbors. After it spread widely, people in Sichuan learned to raise silkworms and silk. In order to mourn the silkworm girl, she transformed herself into a silkworm and benefited Sichuan. The local people built a tomb for the silkworm girl, the "Silkworm Girl Tomb" and a temple as the "Silkworm Girl Temple". They wrote this story on the tombstone of the silkworm girl's grave. Because when the leaves are being nibbled, people will look up and look like a "horse head". For this reason, every household will offer it on the stick god cabinet and call it "horse head empress".
